Job Summary
The Activities Director is responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing engaging activities that enhance the quality of life for residents in assisted living, memory care, and long-term care settings. The Activities Director will ensure that all programs are tailored to meet the diverse needs of residents while fostering a sense of belonging and community.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive activities program that caters to the interests and abilities of residents in assisted living and memory care.
- Schedule and coordinate daily activities, ensuring a balanced mix of physical, social, and recreational opportunities.
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff to promote participation in activities and gather feedback for program improvement.
- Assist in the training and supervision of volunteers and staff involved in activity programs.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of activities through resident participation levels and satisfaction surveys.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to integrate therapeutic activities into care plans for residents requiring special attention.
- Maintain accurate records of resident participation in activities and report on outcomes as needed.
Skills
- Strong organizational skills with experience in schedule management to effectively plan and execute a variety of activities.
- Excellent communication skills to interact positively with residents, families, and team members.
- Knowledge of senior care principles, including familiarity with assisted living, nursing home environments, and home community care practices.
- Ability to assist residents with varying levels of mobility and cognitive function while ensuring their safety during activities.
- Experience working in memory care settings is preferred but not required.
- A compassionate approach towards caring for seniors, promoting dignity, respect, and engagement.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour
Expected hours: 16 – 24 per week
