We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Residential Cabinet Installer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the accurate and timely installation of custom and pre-fabricated cabinetry in residential settings. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in measuring, assembling, and installing cabinetry while ensuring the highest standards of craftsmanship, safety, and client satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cabinet Installation:
  • Install residential cabinets in kitchens, bathrooms, and other living areas based on client specifications.
  • Ensure cabinets are installed securely, level, and aligned with precision.
  • Work with various materials (wood, laminate, MDF, etc.) and cabinet styles (custom, semi-custom, or modular).
  • Handle heavy lifting and ensure the proper placement and adjustment of cabinets.
  • Preparation and Layout:
  • Measure spaces accurately for cabinets and appliances to ensure a proper fit.
  • Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and clients to understand the installation plans and any modifications required.
  • Pre-assemble cabinets as needed for a smoother installation process.
  • Tool and Equipment Management:
  • Operate and maintain power tools, hand tools, and installation equipment safely.
  • Ensure all tools and equipment are kept in good working condition.
  • Finishing Work:
  • Ensure clean lines and proper installation of cabinet hardware (handles, knobs, hinges, etc.).
  • Perform any necessary touch-ups, such as caulking, sanding, or staining, to achieve a high-quality finish.
  • Install accessories like shelves, drawers, and organizers.
  • Client Interaction:
  • Communicate effectively with clients regarding installation details and timelines.
  • Address client questions or concerns about the installation process in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Jobsite Maintenance:
  • Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe at all times.
  • Ensure all waste materials (packaging, scrap wood, etc.) are properly disposed of.
  • Compliance and Safety:
  • Adhere to safety standards and building codes during all installation procedures.
  • Wear required protective gear and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Troubleshooting:
  • Diagnose and resolve minor installation issues or adjustments on-site.
  • Report major issues or design discrepancies to the supervisor or project manager.

Qualifications:

  • Experience:
  • Previous experience as a cabinet installer or carpenter in a residential setting (1-3 years preferred).
  • Familiarity with installation of different types of cabinetry, including custom and modular.
  • Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of carpentry tools, techniques, and installation methods.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, floor plans, and technical drawings.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy cabinets (up to 50 lbs or more).
  • Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work in confined spaces for extended periods.
  • Certifications (Preferred):
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Work Environment:

  • The position requires working in various residential locations, including client homes, new builds, and remodels.
  • Work may involve exposure to dust, noise, and other typical construction site conditions.
  • Regular travel to job sites may be required, with company-provided transportation or allowances for mileage.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $40.00 - $45.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
