Essential Functions and Responsibilities :
Provide timely and safe transportation for residents to and from various locations such as : shopping, medical appointments, banks, and social events
Complete bus safety checks daily, prior to driving bus. Ensure the vehicle is in safe working manner and document any areas of concern or damage. Vehicle emergency kit should be stocked and refilled during this time, if necessary.
Ensure cell phone is charged and Bluetooth is inside the vehicle.
Maintain an accurate log of safety documentation of safety checks.
Provide exceptional customer service by approaching with warmth, compassion, and respect to establish and maintain positive relationships with residents, families, coworkers, and the public.
Maintain interior and exterior vehicle cleanliness.
Inform the executive director in writing of any mechanical problems.
Communicate with Life Enrichment Director about success of outings.
All other duties as assigned.
Additional Functions :
Must be neat in appearance, pleasant personality, be congenial to fellow team members, residents, families, and the public in general.
Must be capable of using own judgement and initiative in daily duties.
Must have strong organizational skills, as well as the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
Must be detail and team-work oriented.
Must attend required in-services / workshops to further education of skills and community requirements.
Qualifications :
Must be Drug free and submit to Urinary Analysis Drug screening upon hire.
Must be able to pass Criminal Background Check, Health Screening including TB test.
Have working knowledge of vehicles and the operation of large vehicles / buses.
7 years of experience operating vehicles.
Maintain current CPR and First Aid Certification
Knowledge of the local area, including local shopping areas and medical locations.
A passion for helping seniors, especially those living with Dementia and Alzheimer’s Disease.
Experience working with seniors.
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, verbally and in writing in standard English.
Able to work all shifts to ensure staffing coverage when needed.
The employee shall be responsible for maintaining the integrity of Fields Senior Living.
Physical Demands and Requirements :
Maintain ability to lift 50 pounds; to stand or walk throughout the vast majority of the workday; and to frequently push, pull, bend, twist and reach.
Healthy and able to meet the health requirements for operating a vehicle.
Must be willing to be active and on feet during entire work shift.
Involves light to heavy physical activity performing non-strenuous and strenuous activities.
Must have sufficient manual dexterity to work with the fingers and to reach / hand items.
