Position Overview Magnolia Dental is seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Expanded Function Dental Assistant (EFDA) to join our team. The EFDA will play a key role in delivering exceptional patient care by performing advanced clinical tasks under the supervision of our dentists. The ideal candidate is a team player with strong technical skills and a passion for patient care.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform expanded functions such as placing and finishing restorative materials, including fillings, under the supervision of the dentist.
• Assist dentists during procedures by preparing and passing instruments, suctioning, and maintaining a sterile field.
• Take and pour impressions for models and fabricate temporary crowns or other dental appliances.
• Place sealants and fluoride treatments as needed.
• Take digital X-rays and ensure they are properly recorded in the patient's chart.
• Provide chairside assistance and patient education, ensuring a comfortable experience for each patient.
• Maintain cleanliness and sterilization of instruments, equipment, and treatment rooms in compliance with infection control protocols.
• Document patient care and treatment in the practice management system accurately and efficiently.
• Communicate effectively with patients to explain procedures and post-operative care instructions.
• Collaborate with the dental team to ensure efficient patient flow and exceptional service.

Qualifications

• Current EFDA certification in the state of Ohio.
• Radiology certification required.
• Previous experience as a Dental Assistant or EFDA preferred.
• Proficiency in taking impressions, placing restorations, and other expanded functions.
• Knowledge of dental software and digital X-rays.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment with a strong attention to detail.
• A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and commitment to providing outstanding patient care.
