Position Summary:
The Front Office Specialist assists patients and visitors of a medical office. They maintain the organization of a medical office and ensure the medical environment is welcoming, calm, and quiet for patients and their families. Front Office Specialists provide compassionate service to patients while managing patient communication, checking-in and out procedures, scheduling, insurance verification, medical records, referrals, and answering telephones.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

*Welcome patients and other visitors to the practice with enthusiasm and genuine care. *Scan patient information into EMR. *Checking in and checking out patients. *Assist patients with completing all necessary forms and documentation including medical insurance. Answer patient questions and provide assistance and directions when necessary. *Register and schedule new and follow up appointments for our patients. Ensure insurance is verified and up to date. *Ensure patient information is up to date and accurate. *Answer incoming calls, as necessary. *Collect co-pays and payments. *Obtain medical reports as required by medical professionals. *Maintain stock of forms and office supplies. *Ensure reception area is well maintained, neat and clean. *Safeguard patient information (PHI) and comply with all HIPAA standards and guidelines. *Maintain patient confidentiality and privacy. *Assist with other clerical and administrative duties as needed. *Familiar with billing concepts, posting payments, etc.
Education Requirements:

*High School diploma or GED required. *Associates degree or certification in business or medical office administration, preferred.
Experience and Minimum Job Requirements:

*Minimum of 3 years in a medical office setting. *Professional manner and appearance. *Excellent organizational skills; able to multi-task efficiently. *Exceptional customer/patient service and interpersonal skills. *Adaptable and flexible. *Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

*Thorough knowledge and experience in all front office responsibilities, including insurance verification. *Displays outstanding teamwork, flexibility, and initiative. *Knowledge of HIPAA and OSHA laws. *Ability to communicate professionally and positively with providers, support and administrative staff, vendors, contractors, and the public. *Skilled in organizing, multi-tasking, establishing priorities, and ability to work effectively at all levels in a collaborative team environment. *Maintains patient confidentiality, and knowledge of patient care protocols, procedures, regulations, and standards. *Knowledge of medical terminology, procedures, and diagnosis. *Skill in the use of computers with a Windows based operating environment and EMR systems. *Capable of growing and leading teams to exceed the practices’ financial and productivity goals.
Available shifts and compensation: We have available shifts all days of the week. Compensation is $16.00 - $18.00/hour.
