The technician upholds compliance with industry standards and regulations to maintain the highest quality standards for all products.

This position oversees quality assurance and food safety processes within the facility. Responsibilities include conducting inspections and verifying compliance with the Safe Quality Food (SQF) system, industry standards, and customer specifications. The role ensures all products meet established quality regulations while maintaining detailed documentation and fostering adherence to operational protocols.
Key Responsibilities
Food Safety and Quality Compliance
Perform analysis and verification activities required by the SQF system to ensure production process control.
Comply with all applicable Plant, State, and Federal regulations, including OSHA, EPA, FDA, HACCP, and SQF.
Uphold Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) throughout the plant.
Monitor processes to ensure finished products meet food safety and quality standards.
Participate in annual reviews and updates to the food safety and quality system.
In-Line Inspection and Testing
Conduct pre-operational and in-line production inspections.
Perform quality testing, including moisture and pH testing, shelf-life evaluation, ATP testing, and environmental swabbing.
Monitor production and packaging conditions, ensuring adherence to established procedures.
Address non-conforming products in alignment with company quality standards, escalating issues to the Production Supervisor and QA Manager as needed.
Document abnormal production conditions and support corrective actions.
Prepare and maintain accurate records of all test results.
Calibrate inspection equipment regularly.
Sanitation and Environmental Monitoring
Conduct routine GMP walkthroughs and monthly sanitation inspections.
Evaluate environmental air quality and ensure compliance with hygiene standards.
Verify employees' adherence to hygiene protocols.
Material Sampling and Inspection
Perform receiving inspections for raw ingredients and packaging materials to confirm compliance with specifications.
Collect samples of raw and packaging materials for production.
Train the receiving department in material inspection procedures.
Maintain and update the Packaging and Raw Material Catalogue and Certificates of Analysis (COAs) from suppliers.
Inspect and evaluate customer-returned products.
