YOU MUST HAVE HOME HEALTH ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT EXPERIENCE TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSITION.
We are seeking a dedicated and organized Home Health Administrative Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide vital administrative support to ensure the efficiency of our home health operations. This role requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a passion for supporting patients and their families.
Required Qualifications: High School Diploma/GED Advanced skills using a computer and computer programs such as GOOGLE Workspace, MS Excel, MS Word, MS outlook, etc.
- Previous experience in home health care or medical office administration is a plus.
- Proficient in using office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite) and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and patient care procedures is preferred.
- Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care.
Must be available Monday through Friday 8am to 5pm with occasional overtime. Must have reliable transportation.
Responsibilities and Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Answers all phone calls in office and directs to appropriate departments
- Scans, faxes, prints and handles all electronic communications
- Control and monitor lab draw schedule and changes including sending and receiving reports.
- Manages all physician orders/plan of care - both sending and receiving. Assist with follow up on physician orders/plan of care not returned within 30 days.
- Scans documentation into clinical records patients (EMR) on a daily basis
- Assists to check benefits as requested by supervisor.
- Maintain current client roster with necessary information.
- Assist in coordinating services provided to clients.
- Assist in taking referrals as needed.
- Work to develop a positive rapport with all staff members.
- Participates in the on-call rotation after hours and on weekends as needed.
- Assist in relaying messages to field and office staff.
- Answering phones / all calls in a friendly, professional, and courteous manner.
Qualifications:
- 1 year of previous HOME HEALTH experience
- Positive and enthusiastic attitude, good people skills, and professional appearance are REQUIRED
- Customer service oriented
- Ability to communicate effectively on the telephone and in writing.
- Ability to relate to people with diverse educational, socioeconomic, and ethnic backgrounds.
- Ability to exercise good judgment and decision-making
- Organized and able to multitask
- Flexible and adaptable to change
- Computer literate
We are currently looking for someone to work FULL TIME Mon-Fri 8am-5pm.
Experience:
- Customer service: 1 year (Preferred)
- Medical terminology: 1 year (Preferred)
- Computer skills: 1 year (Preferred)
