What are the responsibilities and job description for the Registered Nurse (RN) Hospice Nights On Call 7 on 7 off position at Magnolia Hospice Care?
Magnolia Hospice provides care to terminally ill patients in their home. Settings include private homes, nursing facilities, assisted living, memory care, senior apartments and other settings. The on call RN provides visits after normal business hours, weekends, and holidays.
Duties include:
- Assessing and providing hands on care
- Admissions after hours
- After hours discharges including death pronouncement
- Communicating with the interdisciplinary team
- Documenting necessary information in the electronic healthcare record
- Collaborating with the hospice physician
- Coordinating necessary ancillary services such as DME, lab, xray, transportation
- Providing services collaboratively with other healthcare providers such as in nursing facilities, hospitals and home health
- Oversight and direction of unlicensed assistive personnel
- Education and support for family, caregivers and facility staff
Opportunities are available for full or part time positions.
General Purpose: To assure quality patient care and services are provided to in-home clients. Accountable for making decisions based on his/her educational preparation and experience in nursing.

Minimum Education & Experience Requirements:
- Current RN License – active and in good standing
- Minimum of 1-year nursing experience preferred
- Hospice experience is a plus
- Current CPR certification
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Proof of current auto insurance
- Proof of Covid vaccine, medical exemption or religious exemption
