TITLE: Dietary Manager
REPORTS TO: Facility Administrator
Non-Exempt
PURPOSE OF POSITION:
The primary purpose of the position is to plan, organize, develop and direct the overall operation of the Dietary Department in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines and regulations governing our facility and as may be directed by the Administrator, to assure that quality nutritional services are provided on a daily basis and that the Dietary Department is maintained in a clean, safe, and sanitary manner.
ROLE and RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plan, develop, and distribute work schedules and assignments, ensuring adequate staffing.
- Provide employee training and feedback to meet established quality standards.
- Enforce employee disciplinary system per established Magnolia Manor policies.
- Make daily rounds to assure that the assigned personnel are performing all required duties according to current federal, state, and local standards and guidelines.
- Assure that service work areas, food storage rooms, preparation areas, etc., are maintained in a clean, safe, and sanitary manner. Inspect food storage rooms, chemical rooms, and freezer for upkeep.
- Make written and oral reports/recommendations to the Dietitian Consultant and/or Administrator regarding issues concerning the Dietary Department.
- Assist in recruitment, interviewing, and selection of Dietary personnel.
KEY CHARACTERISTICS:
- Ability to interpret/ execute goals of dietary department.
- Ability to work with frequent interruptions.
- Excellent communication skills written in oral.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Must be knowledgeable of dietary practices and procedures as well as the laws, regulations and guidelines governing dietary functions that pertain to long-term care.
