What are the responsibilities and job description for the Floor Technician - Columbus East position at MAGNOLIA MANOR?
PURPOSE OF POSITION:
The primary purpose of the job position is to clean and maintain all floor areas and windows of the facility in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines and regulations governing the facility and as may be directed by the Housekeeping/Laundry Supervisor to assure that the facility is clean, safe, and sanitary.
ROLE AND REQUIREMENTS:
- Perform a safety and operation check on all equipment prior to use, including electrical cords and plugs, locking levers, dispensing and extraction systems.
- After use of equipment, return it to the main storeroom, empty all chemicals, and clean the equipment. Store all chemicals properly.
- Post wet floor signs prior to and during all wet floor care procedures.
- Ensure that the electrical cords are kept to one side of the hallway while cleaning. Direct visitors, employees, residents around the work areas.
- Ensure that no equipment is left plugged into an electrical outlet while unattended.
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance of all carpet to ensure it is free of spots and/or stains.
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance of hard floor surfaces. Use proper chemicals according to the type of cleaning being done (e.g.; strip and wax, scrub and wax).
- Check and maintain clean windows in all support areas of the facility.
- Remove trash from support areas
- Clean all big trash cans as needed: Wash and dry them before placing clean liners in them.
- Empty biohazard waste receptacles daily; always wear protective gloves when handling biohazard waste.
