TITLE: RN or LPN Unit Manager
REPORTS TO: Director of Nursing
Non-Exempt
PURPOSE OF POSITION:
The primary purpose of the position is to direct and supervise resident care in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations that govern the facility and as may be required by the Director of Nursing to ensure that the highest quality of care is maintained at all times.
ROLE and RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist the DON in the planning, developing, organizing, implementing, evaluating, and directing the day-to-day functions of the Nursing Department, in accordance with current rules, regulations, and guidelines that govern the long-term care facility.
- Manage and Mentor your own team of nursing professionals.
- Perform administrative duties such as completing medical forms, reports, evaluations, studies, charting, etc. as necessary.
- Make daily rounds of the nursing department to ensure that all nursing personnel is performing their work assignments in accordance with acceptable nursing standards. Report findings to the DON.
- Monitor medication passes and treatment schedules to assure that medications are being administered as ordered and that treatments are provided as scheduled.
- Report problem areas to the DON. Assist in developing and implementing correction action.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must possess a current, unencumbered, active state RN or LPN license.
- Must have, as a minimum, one (1) year experience as a supervisor in a hospital, long-term care facility, or other related health care facility.
