Position Title: Chief of Staff / General Manager
Location: Tampa, FL (Full time, On-site)
Reports to: Founder & CEO, with a dotted line to the COO
Position Summary
The Chief of Staff / General Manager will serve as a trusted right hand to the CEO, acting as a force multiplier to accelerate our client's growth initiatives. This role blends strategic planning with operational execution and will have a direct and measurable impact on the company’s success. Ideal candidates are resourceful, relationship-oriented, and energized by leading cross-functional projects that lay the foundation for sustainable growth.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic & Operational Leadership
- Collaborate with the CEO and COO to manage strategic initiatives, including facility expansion, market growth, and customer experience improvement.
- Lead weekly leadership meetings and company-wide communications; track and report on KPIs and project milestones.
- Serve as a cross-functional connector between sales, engineering, lab operations, and customer accounts.
- Own internal project planning and resource allocation for major customer-facing and operational initiatives.
Customer & Account Management
- Oversee account managers and existing customer relationships, ensuring high levels of service and communication.
- Act as a liaison between lab-based technical teams and external stakeholders to align project objectives and timelines.
- Work with technical and sales teams to manage the lifecycle of custom packaging solutions and development plans.
Vendor, Inventory & Process Management
- Manage vendor relationships and supply chain logistics, including oversight of procurement and inventory control.
- Partner with engineering and operations teams to improve inventory systems; experience with implementing digital inventory tools is a plus.
- Review customer, vendor, and partnership contracts; coordinate with external legal counsel to ensure terms align with business goals and mitigate risk
Administrative & Financial Oversight
- Handle internal operations including payroll, insurance audits, retirement plans, and HR coordination with third-party providers (some tasks may be outsourced).
- Oversee financial operations, including budgeting, cash flow forecasting, and reporting in collaboration with external CPA and finance advisors.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks and Excel is essential.
