What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sonographer (Echo/Vascular) position at MAGNOLIA REGIONAL MEDICAL CENTER?

Responsible for using ultrasound technology to create images of a patient's blood vessels, primarily focusing on arteries and veins, to help physicians diagnose conditions related to blood flow, such as blockages, clots, or aneurysms, by analyzing the structure and movement of blood within the vessels.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Perform vascular ultrasound examinations.
2. Interpret ultrasound images.
3. Properly handling and calibrating ultrasound equipment, selecting appropriate settings for different examinations.
4. Prepare detailed reports documenting the ultrasound findings and communicating critical information to the physician.
5. Maintain quality standards by following established protocols and performing routine equipment checks.
6. Utilize computer systems (CPSI-order entry and Image Link (PACS)
7. Sending Images to remote sites Radiologist After hours and UAMS.
8. Transport patients as needed.
9. Assist with office duties as needed (secure patient information, fax reports, file and pull folders, work up pts for next day, yearly purge, etc.)
10. Help other technologists and clinical instructors as needed.
11. Performs other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
A. Associate degree or higher in Diagnostic Medical Sonography with a specialization in vascular ultrasound.
B. Prefer one years’ experience as a Echo Vascular Tech/Sonographer.
C. Must be registered or registry eligible. Arkansas State license. CPR Certification.
