Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care in an urgent care setting. You will assist healthcare professionals in delivering effective medical services while ensuring a positive patient experience. A solid understanding of physiology and the ability to perform vital sign assessments are essential for this role.

Responsibilities

  • Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures in both outpatient and urgent care settings.
  • Prepare patients for examinations by taking vital signs, documenting medical histories, and ensuring comfort.
  • Administer medications as directed by providers, including inhalation therapies when necessary.
  • Maintain accurate patient records within electronic health systems, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with regulations.
  • Coordinate patient flow to optimize clinic operations and enhance patient service.
  • Educate patients on treatment plans, medications, and follow-up care instructions.
  • Support clinical staff in various tasks related to hospital medicine, including assisting in the operating room (OR) when required.
  • Participate in ongoing training and development to stay current with best practices in medical assisting.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a Medical Assistant program is preferred.
  • Knowledge of physiology and medical terminology is essential.
  • Experience in outpatient settings or urgent care is highly desirable.
  • Strong patient service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations.
  • Ability to perform basic clinical tasks, including taking vital signs and preparing patients for procedures.
  • Familiarity with electronic health record systems is a plus.
  • Must be detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) or equivalent is preferred but not mandatory.
