Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. A solid understanding of physiology and the ability to perform vital sign assessments are essential for this role.
Responsibilities
- Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures in both outpatient and urgent care settings.
- Prepare patients for examinations by taking vital signs, documenting medical histories, and ensuring comfort.
- Administer medications as directed by providers, including inhalation therapies when necessary.
- Maintain accurate patient records within electronic health systems, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with regulations.
- Coordinate patient flow to optimize clinic operations and enhance patient service.
- Educate patients on treatment plans, medications, and follow-up care instructions.
- Support clinical staff in various tasks related to hospital medicine, including assisting in the operating room (OR) when required.
- Participate in ongoing training and development to stay current with best practices in medical assisting.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a Medical Assistant program is preferred.
- Knowledge of physiology and medical terminology is essential.
- Experience in outpatient settings or urgent care is highly desirable.
- Strong patient service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations.
- Ability to perform basic clinical tasks, including taking vital signs and preparing patients for procedures.
- Familiarity with electronic health record systems is a plus.
- Must be detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) or equivalent is preferred but not mandatory.
