What are the responsibilities and job description for the Terminal Manager position at Magnum Companies?
The responsibility of the Terminal Manager is to manage the day-to-day operation and activities at a Magnum LTL terminal, exceeding scorecard goals. Lead, manage and coordinate the operation of a terminal, ensuring terminal meets safety, operational and revenue goals to ensure maximum cost effectiveness while achieving customer satisfaction.
- Function as a leader, emulating the behaviors expected of all employees by the company.
- Provide a safe and efficient working environment for employees and the public by ensuring compliance with company and government safety regulations.
- Coordinate all activities related to terminal operations to ensure continuous improvement while reducing costs and meeting or exceeding customer expectations for on-time delivery.
- Drive for departmental results and identify potential problems to implement a corrective action plan.
- Manage the hiring process by hiring the best-qualified applicants and by ensuring compliance with company and government regulations.
- Facilitate education and training programs to motivate employees to improve performance and quality of work processes.
- Conduct performance reviews. Focus on development and career planning for the Operations team.
- Review and analyze expenditure, financial, and operations reports to determine the requirements for increasing profits and improving processes. Prepare recommendations on findings for regional management evaluation.
- Ensure all terminal staff know and adhere to the safety and compliance requirements set forth by the safety department.
- Work with sales staff to prepare information before outside sales calls.
- Manage all staff and provide performance reviews, significant reports, and salary adjustments. Delegate these same responsibilities to subordinate leaders to attain full engagement with all employees and manage all other personnel management issues that arise during operation.
- Meet with vendors as needed to handle needs at the terminal level.
Seeking an individual with:

- The ability to work in a dock platform in all weather conditions (hot or cold).
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient skills in MS Office Suite or related transportation software.
Education/Experience:
- High School Diploma/GED.
- 2-year college degree (preferred).
- Prior transportation, warehouse, shipping/receiving experience (preferred).
The physical demands:
- Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods - continuously.
- Ability to talk, hear, and see – continuously.
- Ability to lift and/or carry up to 20 pounds – occasionally.
- Ability to travel - occasionally.
