What are the responsibilities and job description for the 3rd shift Freight Handler position at Magnum, LTD?
The LTL Freight Handler is responsible for the timely and accurate loading and unloading of semi-trailers.
- Unload freight from semi-trailers at the LTL dock.
- Check in on manifests, match product in trucks to specified paperwork for delivery of products and locations
- Inspect freight for damage, record accurate exceptions for damage claim prevention.
- Enter necessary data into the computer
- Reload freight into the appropriate trailer at the loading dock for the driver to deliver utilizing propane-powered and/or sit-down-style forklifts and handloading.
- Maintain a clean environment, including removing broken pallets, sweeping inside of trailers, etc.
- Exterior grounds keeping (mowing, weed whacking, snow blowing, shoveling, etc.)
- Assist with projects and perform other duties as assigned.
- Ability to fluently read, speak, and write English to complete necessary paperwork and communicate with supervisors and co-workers.
