What are the responsibilities and job description for the Tapes & Films Operator position at Magnum Magnetics Corporation?
Nature of Work:
This position performs production duties associated with the manufacturing of tape and film products. Future expectations of the qualified individual are to become coater operator.
Examples of Work:
¨ Operate production coating equipment.
¨ Preform changeover for different product families including tapes and films.
¨ Load/Unload laminate, liner, and finished coater rolls from coater.
¨ Label finished coater rolls and record production.
¨ Change glue drums and prepare raw material for production.
¨ Verify raw materials are correct according to job order.
¨ Create and load product family recipes for Coater line and Mahlo gaging system.
¨ Complete required paperwork according to Company guidelines.
¨ Examine in-process materials to determine compliance with quality standards.
¨ Sample product and performs quality checks according to Quality Control procedures.
¨ Maintain equipment by performing preventative maintenance tasks.
¨ Responsible for cleanliness of work area and adherence to OSHA regulations.
¨ Cleans equipment on a regular basis and as needed.
¨ Operate forklift to move and store raw materials and finished goods.
¨ Perform regular safety inspections and makes recommendations for improvement.
¨ Recommend improvements to product appearance and flow.
¨ Assists mechanic as required.
¨ Performs other duties assigned by management.

¨ Attention to detail skills.
¨ Ability to operate packaging equipment and computers.
¨ Ability to accomplish multiple tasks.
¨ Ability to become a licensed forklift operator.
¨ Ability to communicate well with other employees, particularly regarding production issues.
¨ Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
¨ Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
¨ Ability to follow all safety rules and regulations.
¨ Ability to write routine correspondence and complete production paperwork.
¨ Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
¨ Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment.
¨ Ability to work extended hours as needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
¨ Training:
High School education or equivalent.
¨ Experience:
Six weeks related experience preferred.
