What are the responsibilities and job description for the Trailer / Reefer Technician position at Magnum Trucking?
Description
The trailer technician is responsible for routine maintenance of diesel-engine semi-tractors and diagnosing and repairing the vehicle.
- Be familiar with the mechanical and technical aspects. Use diagnostic computer software on our advanced vehicles to identify issues.
- Perform thorough inspections and repairs on semi-trailers and reefer units by DOT requirements and industry standards.
- Speak and write English well enough to convey information effectively.
- Diagnose and make recommendations on repairs as required.
- Perform repairs and modifications on all styles of tractors and trailers.
- Repair, rewire, and troubleshoot electrical systems.
- Follow company protocol when checking lights and tires, greasing, adjusting brakes, and checking framework on trailers.
- Perform all types of welding (i.e. aluminum, steel, and stainless steel).
- Use a computer to log / log out orders and invoices.
- Change oil, air, and fuel filters.
- Comfortably handle brake drum dolly, creepers, and man lift / scissor lift.
