Housekeeping Supervisor / Room Inspector – Starting Pay $17/hour

Fulltime (30-40 hours/week) and Part-time (as needed, up to 28 hours/week) positions available. Starting wage is $17.00/hr.
A day in the life:
· Have a working knowledge of Magnus Hotel Management housekeeping methods and cleaning techniques.
· Check on linen consumption, housekeeping supplies, care of furniture, and appearance of the building and fixtures.
· Teach, train, and improve techniques of all housekeeping employees.
· Assist the Executive Housekeeper in inspecting all check out rooms prior to turning them into the front desk. Ensure that they have been cleaned and furnished to brand standards.
· Assist Room Attendants on rush rooms and at other times as directed by the Executive Housekeeper.
· On approval of the General Manager, discuss suggested reprimands, new hire and terminations in the absence of the Executive Housekeeper.
· Assist the Executive Housekeeper in inspection of all public areas.
· Insure neatness and cleanliness of linen room. Issue all supplies, and linens as directed by the Executive Housekeeper.
· Assist the Executive Housekeeper in taking the end of month inventories and requisitioning supplies.
· Must maintain a safe and accident-free working environment.
· Perform any other duties or responsibilities as may be required.
· Perform daily inspects of Room Attendants carts for cleanliness, condition, and availability of equipment.
· Also responsible for making sure all storages areas are locked at the end of the day.
· Coordinate with the maintenance department when any unresolved problem would prohibit a room from being rented.
· Each morning, check all ready rooms to make sure they are acceptable for early morning check-ins. Should a “tidy” be necessary, tidy the room. If a room needs extensive cleaning, report the room to the Executive Housekeeper for room attendant assignment. Notify the front desk of the change of room status.
· Report any persistent complaints or remarks by any of the employees supervised about working conditions, wages, or any other matter to the Executive Housekeeper.
· Periodically report to the Executive Housekeeper on the quality of the performance of each person supervised, offer remarks on which employees are performing above average, or below average.
Skills you’ll need:
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Prior housekeeping/laundry experience preferred.
- Prior Marriott Hotel Experience preferred.
- Ability to stand/walk for entire shift.
- Lift up to 25lbs regularly, lift up to 40lbs occasionally.
- Ability to follow written or verbal instructions.
- Ability to follow safety procedures.
