Our company is looking for a Medical Claims Billing Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in billing claims and insurance payment collections, as well as a strong understanding of accounting principles. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely billing to insurance companies, processing payments, and resolving any medical claims billing issues that may arise. The Billing Specialist must be able to multitask and prioritize tasks in order to meet deadlines.
Responsibilities:
- Prep and submit medical claims in a timely manner.
- Maintain payment posting and aged receivables reports.
- Research and resolve billing discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate records of insurance payments and claim status.
- Generate monthly billing reports for management review.
- Follow up with insurance companies on claim status and unpaid claims.
- Resolve/Resubmit/Appeal denied or underpaid medical claims with insurance companies.
- At least one year of medical billing experience is required.
- Have worked in medical billing claims software and clearinghouses.
- Must know how to read and interpret remittance advices from insurance companies.
- Must have basic understanding of billing rules such as corrected claims, clean claims, place of service codes, timely filing, and handling denials and rejections.
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 5 – 10 per week
