Job Description: Front Desk Clerk
We are currently seeking a Front Desk Clerk to join our hotel team. The Front Desk Clerk serves as the primary point of contact for guests during the shift and is responsible for ensuring that all close of day scenarios are performed in compliance with brand standards and company policies. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently and with little supervision, possess good customer service skills, and have the ability to multi-task.
Duties:
- Check-in guests in an efficient and friendly manner, ensuring that the correct room type and rate is assigned and guest keys are issued.
- Check-out guests at the end of their stay, ascertaining guest satisfaction, collecting keys, posting any late charges, and accurately settling the bill.
- Handle incoming guest phone reservations and answer inquiries regarding hotel services, entertainment suggestions, and travel directions.
- Handle all guest complaints or problems to exceed guest expectations, and handle all guest service requests and make change.
- Serve as the hotel phone operator and direct calls to proper extensions and take and deliver phone messages.
- Conduct security walks and keep records of room availability and guest accounts using front desk software.
- Maintain a balanced cash/billing drawer and be responsible for generating automated audit reports for the manager's review.
- Maintain awareness of all rates and ensure compliance with energy conservation and job safety requirements.
- Set wake-up calls, print and deliver notices to guests, and stock linens and supplies at the front desk for the following day.
- Communicate with previous and following shifts, and perform similar duties as requested by the supervisor.
