What are the responsibilities and job description for the Construction Flagger position at Mago Construction Company?
Position would start April 2025
Mago Construction Company is a family-owned asphalt paving contractor based out of Bardstown, KY with asphalt plants, two rock quarries, and construction operations throughout the state of Kentucky.
We seek to add a Construction Flagger to our crew that services Breckinridge, Meade, Spencer, Bullitt and Hancock counties! Flaggers are responsible for controlling the flow of traffic around road construction sites. Flaggers must inform the construction crew of any safety hazards. Additionally, flaggers may set up or assist in the setup of signage and traffic control devices, such as cones, barrels, and barricades.
Primary job duties and responsibilities:
- Using hand signals and direction signs to direct traffic around road construction sites.
- Communicating with other flaggers using hand-held radios to direct two-way traffic onto a single lane.
- Informing the construction crew of any traffic issues that may affect their safety.
- Removing all signs and traffic control devices upon completion of construction work.
- Assisting the construction crew in the removal of rubble, debris, and other clean up.
- Appropriately positioning warning and detour signs around construction sites.
- Set up or assist in the setup of signs and traffic control devices along construction sites to barricade certain areas.
- Engage with the public in a respectful and professional demeanor.
- Other duties as assigned.
No experience is required; we will provide in-house training and traffic control certification, although previous experience in traffic control would be a plus.
Musts: be reliable and timely; able to work outside in differing conditions of weather and stand for extended periods of time; represent the company well and interact with the traveling public; pay attention to details.
