GAMA Expo 2025 - Event Staff

Magpie Games is an Albuquerque-based publisher of tabletop roleplaying games and board games. Over the past ten years, we've raised more than $12 million via Kickstarter to fund the creation of unique tabletop products that have reached thousands of gamers all over the world. In addition to our original properties—Masks: A New Generation, Bluebeard's Bride, Urban Shadows—we are also the creators of licensed RPGs for Root: A Game of Woodland Might and Right and the critically acclaimed Avatar: The Last Airbender and Legend of Korra series. Magpie Games is looking to hire a freelance Sales Staff member to work at our booth at the GAMA Expo 2025 at the Kentucky International Convention Center in Louisville, KY from on February 26th and 27th, 2025 (Thursday from 12:30 pm - 6:30 pm and Friday from 10:00 am - 7:00 pm)

Duties include:

• Representing and promoting the Magpie Games brand in a positive and professional manner
• Selling & promoting Magpie Game core products during assigned shift hours
• Informing customers of any specials deals, discounts, giveaways, or programming
• Collecting emails and lead info from fans & customers for our mailing list
• Loading and unloading stock of products (books, game components), supplies, banners
• Reporting to, and carrying out any tasks assigned, by the Magpie Games trade show leaders.

Job requirements include:

• Must be able to work to assist breakdown
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Must have reliable means of communication (access to phone and email)
• Must have reliable means of transportation to the show
• Must have a valid ID

An ideal applicant would have previous retail sales and customer service experience, and is local (or within driving distance) to the convention venue in Louisville, KY. Prior experience or familiarity with tabletop gaming is appreciated but not required. Magpie Games is primarily screening for applicants who are able to work both days (estimated amount of hours is between 10-15 hours).

Compensation packages for GAMA Expo 2025 will be processed & sent out within 2 weeks of receiving an invoice after the end of the show. Please contact both Mark Diaz Truman (mark@magpiegames.com) and Derrick Kapchinsky (derrick@magpiegames.com) for any inquiries.

Prior to the show beginning, please check in with Christopher and Derrick to confirm your preferred mode of payment (e.g. PayPal or direct bank wire transfer) & please make sure all necessary information is delivered to them. PayPal is our recommended and preferred option for payment.

Eligible billable hours will be checked and confirmed by your trade show leaders before processing. Please ensure you check in regularly with your leaders to ensure the accuracy and validity of your work hours.
