Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Supervisor to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing daily operations, ensuring quality control, and managing a team of skilled workers. This role requires strong leadership abilities and a solid understanding of manufacturing processes, particularly in areas such as plasma cutting, sheet metal fabrication, and tooling. The Supervisor will play a critical role in maintaining safety standards and optimizing productivity within the workplace.
This position leads a manufacturing shift to ensure that Magpro LLC’s products are manufactured to its customers standards, and according to Magpro’s quality objectives. The basic responsibilities include training, increasing efficiency, problem solving, providing the appropriate performance feedback to the workers under the direct supervision of the supervisor, and an attitude reflecting ownership of the operation. The production supervisor will be responsible to ensure that all procedures are appropriately followed, and that safety and environmental considerations are emphasized and enforced at all times.
Duties
- Monitoring workers to ensure adherence to all production related procedures, and to ensure all quality standards are met.
- Communicate with other Team Leaders to ensure overall plant production is maximized.
- To maintain records required by workplace procedures, and to review these records in order to comply with quality objectives, and to provide feedback which will give workers sufficient information through which they can judge their performance.
- To ensure that all necessary work resources are available when and where they are needed, and to work with management to manage inventory levels.
- To evaluate shift performance, to adjust worker responsibilities accordingly, and to recommend operational changes to increase efficiency.
- Maintain accurate records of production metrics and report on performance outcomes.
- To enforce safety regulations.
- Prioritizing resources.
- Setting goals for the team and for individual workers, and providing feedback and discipline to workers as appropriate.
- Conducting safety and process trainings.
- Developing and perpetuating a culture of task ownership in the workforce.
- Giving prompt feedback to employees.
- Preparing written reports and instructions.
Qualifications
- Willingness to lead by example
- A degree in a technical/Vocational field or college is preferred but not required.
- Previous experience in a foundry or similar fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Strong problem solving skills.
- Train new employees on operational procedures, safety protocols, and equipment usage.
- Must have a basic understanding of statistics, and be able to solve basic mathematical problems.
- Must have experience with spreadsheet and word processing applications.
- Must have good writing skills.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
- Must have a good technical aptitude.
