The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing maintenance and repairs in an industrial setting. They will ensure all service, repairs, and modifications of maintenance activities are completed safely, efficiently and to acceptable levels of workmanship. This role requires a proactive approach to make sure that all systems are functioning efficiently and safely. The Maintenance Person will play a crucial role in maintaining the overall functionality of our operations. The right candidate will fully implement all QEHS programs, demonstrating personal ownership and accountability, and supporting continuous improvement.
Key Task and Responsibilties
- Responsible for reporting defects and repairing/rebuilding equipment as needed. Equipment includes, but not limited to, industrial milling equipment, dust collection systems, pneumatic systems, silos, hydraulic systems, classifiers, and fans.
- Preventative maintenance activities – greasing, adjusting, tensioning, inspections
- Fabricate, cut and weld as needed.
- Read and understand repair manuals, Job Risk Assessments, and Critical Task Procedures (CTP).
- Report supply and parts usage and report any shortages.
- Promptly respond to all radio trouble calls.
- Assists in analyzing equipment failures, investigating problems and offering solu-tions. Problem solving and diagnostic skills are a must.
- Must be capable of learning operational equipment process flows.
- Be prepared to accept different maintenance tasks. Avoid return trips to the toolbox when possible.
- Assists with special projects, as assigned.
- Provides technical assistance and support to plant problem-solving activities in-volving quality, production, environmental, and/or change management issues.
- May be required to instruct or assist in the instruction or training of others.
- Use INFOR software to close-out and track assigned work orders.
- Be able to take directions from Supervisor and be able to work under little or no supervision. Must lead crews on occasion.
- Communicate and report pertinent information to Supervisor.
- Keep the shop and other working areas clean and in safe condition at all times.
- Support your peers in the Maintenance Department as well as the production group in maintaining equipment availability.
- Be responsible for tools assigned to your personal tool set as well as checked out tools. Keep them clean, in safe working order and return them to their proper location after use.
- Operates mobile equipment including, though not limited to, forklifts, tele-handlers, loaders, skid steer, and manlifts
- Conduct work area inspections.
- Required to respond to call-outs, work weekends, and overtime on an as needed basis to keep operational equipment operating.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
Education and Experience requirements:
AS technical degree OR 1 years of maintenance experience in the industrial/mining maintenance field. Experience in operating forklift and/or milling equipment preferred.
Knowledge, skills, abilities and other characteristics:
- Language Skills – Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports.
- Communication skills – expresses ideas effectively, listens, and organizes and delivers information appropriately. (written and verbal).
- Mathematical Skills – Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

- Mechanical - knowledge of machines and tools, including design, use, repair and maintenance.

- Prioritizes to ensure work orders are completed in a timely manner.
- Multi tasks and coordinates response to emergencies in the field to ensure timely execution of emergency/emergent work.
