Position Summary:
Responsible for the implementation, support, maintenance, patching, performance, and overall uptime of Magruder Hospital’s network and server infrastructure.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Network design, implementation and support, provide support for network consisting of Cisco switches, Cisco wireless, and Juniper firewalls.
- Provide support for servers consisting of both physical and virtual (VMware) servers.
- Provide Support for server-based applications including, Microsoft Exchange, AD\DNS, System Center CM, as well as several business applications.
- This position is an escalation point for the IT Specialist role. The Network Analyst will assist in resolution of any issues escalated by the IT Specialist. Network Analyst is also responsible for basic IT Specialist training.
- Generates and maintains documentation for network and server infrastructure, documentation must be generated for all new implementations as well as maintained for existing installations.
- Manages multiple Magruder Hospital network resources. Responsible for installation and maintenance of Hospital workstation and network hardware and software.
- Communicates directly with network vendors, acting as a representative of Magruder Hospital to resolve network-related hardware and software problems.
- Conducts the installation of hardware (PC’s, Printers, Scanners, etc.) and software, including applications, upgrades, patches and fixes etc.
- Confers with system users to analyze current procedures, identify problems, and learn specific output requirements and develops or coordinates solutions.
- Conducts or coordinates the initial and on-going training programs for hospital personnel regarding system hardware and software.
- Establishes and maintains security privileges for accessing resources.
- Monitors network security and analyzes network security issues.
- Independently and proactively responds to any network security breach.
- Troubleshoots network-related problems; recommends and implements solutions
- Manages user expectations and cultivates feedback for network enhancements.
- Monitors licensing and distribution of software; maintains asset records.
- Provides Level-2 Help Desk support to Help Desk staff and system users, including hospital management and administration.
- Provides technical assistance, training, and ongoing support to fellow Information Systems staff, and users of the hospital IT resources. Establishes appropriate procedures for network utilization. Provides stand-by coverage as scheduled, and subject to call-in as needed. Other duties as requested or assigned.
- Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions; ensures compliance with Joint Commission and other external and internal regulatory agencies.
- Maintains the integrity of confidential patient information in accordance with HIPAA and hospital policy, including accessing, using and disclosing patient information relevant to the individual employee’s job duties. Also maintains confidentiality of other customer and hospital business affairs.
- Adheres to the standards of Magruder Hospital’s corporate compliance policies and seeks guidance and training when necessary to resolve questions about the policies. Reports violations in accordance with corporate compliance and organizational standards.
- Reports to work on time and as scheduled; Shows respect for co-workers by following established break times; Keeps personal conversations and telephone calls to a minimum.
- Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected.

Education, Skills and Experience Requirements:
Required:
- Associates Degree in Information Systems or related field, with 2 years relevant work experience (relevant work experience can replace traditional education requirements.
· Demonstrates knowledge of various aspects of networking and communications, server and workstation support, and security. Demonstrates ability to design, install, manage, and maintain a network.
· Demonstrates knowledge of multiple computer systems, data storage and reporting methods, software utilities and tools, and principles of information management.
· Demonstrates ability to grasp new and technical concepts quickly and stay current with technology. Demonstrates analytical abilities, creativity, and attentiveness to detail.
· Demonstrates initiative and the ability to work independently in a stressful environment. Result oriented, with strong leadership skills.
· Demonstrates ability to communicate effectively in both written and oral form. Demonstrates ability and willingness to generate and maintain necessary documentation.
- 4 years providing network/server infrastructure support in a corporate environment
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems or related field
