Job Summary
The Library Digital and Patron Services Coordinator at Maharishi International University (MIU) plays a key role in advancing the library's digital modernization efforts while preserving and curating historical resources related to Maharishi, MIU, and the TM Organization. This position enhances access to valuable scholarly and historical materials, contributing to MIU’s mission by supporting holistic education and Consciousness-Based learning. The Coordinator works closely with students, faculty, and researchers to ensure seamless access to these resources, fostering a dynamic and inclusive academic environment.
Job Responsibilities
Administration/Management
- Serves as resource person for daily library operations and for Library Director in their absence.
- Leads technology initiatives and patron service improvements, including policies and procedures, by advising the Library Director on long-term needs while aligning with MIU's mission and values in relation to these areas.
- Provides reference and readers/audiovisual/technology advisory service to the public.
- Attends bi-annual Library Board meetings and prepares narrative reports outlining library advancements and strategic initiatives, as required.
- Participates in long-range planning process for the library, incorporating MVS principles into the vision for library services and resource development including recommending changes or improvements and developing new types of services and operations.
- Develops grants for library programs and services as appropriate and available.
- Manages circulation desk operations in the absence of the designated staff member, ensuring efficient and service-oriented patron interactions.
Computer/Network Administration
- Serves as webmaster, providing the design and maintenance of the library’s web page.
- Serves as a liaison for the archives, providing faculty, students and researchers with access to the digital resources which contribute to the accessibility of new and historical materials related to Maharishi and the university.
- Evaluates, acquires, installs, and maintains library technology, including hardware, software, and digital databases, fostering a seamless user experience.
- Manages and curates the library’s audiovisual collection, including videos, Maharishi tape library resources, DVDs, audiobooks, and other digital and emerging media, with attention to content relevant to MVS and consciousness-based education.
Job Qualifications
- A strong background in computers/technology and non-print materials formats.

- Commitment to the principles of Maharishi Vedic Science (MVS), Consciousness-Based Education (CBE), and interest in integrating MVS into library resources and services.
