Swim Instructor
Do you love to swim? Do you agree it is important to for everyone to know water safety? If so, we invite you to apply for our team! We'll teach you how to instruct swim lessons.
The Mahaska County YMCA is looking for individuals who have a passion for teaching kids and adults the important life skill of swimming. Under the direction of the Aquatics Coordinator, swim instructors will:
- Instruct swimming lessons in accordance with YMCA guidelines
- Provide a fun swim lesson experience for participants
- Support members and program participants in achieving their goals
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with members, program participants, and colleagues
- Maintain records as required
- Follow all YMCA policies, rules, regulations and procedures
REQUIREMENTS
Must be:
- At least 16 years of age
- Very comfortable in and around water
- Willing to learn swim instruction techniques
- Comfortable working with kids
