Electronics Project Buyer
You will be part of a collaborative team, co-located with the Fluid Management N.Purchasing Team, Program Management Team, and Engineering Team. Your role will involve supporting the preparation of material costs and vendor tooling estimates for Acquisitions.
This Project Buying position will focus on Electronics components such as PCBAs but may also include some mechanical components. You will be responsible for tracking performance to these material cost estimates and project timelines once the business is won.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sending RFQs to bid list suppliers
- Working cross-functionally to evaluate supplier offerings/capabilities
- Negotiating the cost for electrical components
- Working through the MAHLE sourcing process
- Presenting at the sourcing table
- Negotiating supply agreements with selected supplier(s)
Support Functions:
- Providing material cost estimates for electronic components as a part of the acquisition process under the guidance of the Team Lead
- Interface with Product Engineering to understand electronics and mechanical Bill of Materials and requirements
- Determining when directed-buy pricing for electrical components is cost-effective and providing this information to the supply base
- Tracking performance to business case numbers and managing the procurement process timeline from initial RFQ to start of production
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Business/Supply Chain
- Minimum of 3 years of direct experience in international Supply Chain/Purchasing within a Tier 1 Automotive Supplier
