Head of Quality Job Description
A key member of the Plant Leadership Team, the Head of Quality serves as a business partner to the Plant Manager, championing compliance, continuous improvement, and customer voice.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure effectiveness and continuous improvement of the quality management system.
- Take ownership of talent management practices within the team, including diversity, equity, and inclusion, learning and development, performance management, and succession planning.
- Plan, manage, and coordinate all facets of the quality operation to ensure outstanding supplier relationships and achievement of customer scorecard and plant KPIs.
Customer Quality:
Establish, monitor, and administer plant quality goals and objectives per corporate guidelines and customer targets. Review customer complaints and ensure problem resolution.
Quality Planning:
Establish, monitor, and administer quality APQP objectives per corporate guidelines, MAHLE targets, and customer requirements.
Supplier Quality:
Establish, monitor, and administer plant quality goals and objectives per corporate guidelines. Review supplier complaints and ensure implementation and resolution.
Quality Management System:
Establish, monitor, and maintain quality management system per corporate guidelines, IATF16949 guidelines, and customer requirements.
Additional Responsibilities:
Assist with creation and implementation of organizational policies and procedures. Act as advisor regarding key training initiatives for all Quality personnel. Establish long-term relationships with customers and strengthen contact network within different customer organizations.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience with increasing management and supervisory responsibility required.
- Automotive experience highly desired.
- Experience in complex manufacturing setting highly desired.
- Proven implementation of preventative quality system necessary.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and statistical tools required.
