What are the responsibilities and job description for the Intern - Mechanical Engineer (Operations) position at Mahle Inc.?
Your Contribution
As an Engineering Intern, you will work with Engineers and department personnel to learn piston manufacturing and support processes and perform associated / assigned duties. You may utilize methods involved in manufacturing to perform engineering, maintenance, set-up, production, or other duties.
- Works closely with line personnel to ensure newly developed parts and tooling are correctly installed and functioning properly.
- Develop cost analysis and / or or proposals for implementation of new processes or improvements to existing processes.
- Selects or designs parts and tooling to meet customer specifications and expectations.
- Confers with established personnel to implement standard operating procedures and resolve system malfunctions.
- Creates work or gauging instructions designed to inform workers of standardized or proper methods for performing given tasks.
- Prepares charts, graphs, and diagrams to illustrate material such as costs, workflow, routing, layout, material handling, machine utilization, etc.
