What are the responsibilities and job description for the Child Welfare Caseworker - Treatment Foster Care Program Leader position at Mahoning County Children Services?
Will assist the Agency’s Community Liaison/Recruitment Specialist in coordinating, planning and hosting targeted recruitment events and activities geared towards treatment level foster homes. Will work closely with potential and licensed treatment foster families. Maintain data as it pertains to the treatment foster care program. Will be trained in the pre-service curriculum for treatment level foster families and will assist in training prospective foster families on this curriculum. Will attend recruitment events and conduct orientations with prospective treatment level foster caregivers, as assigned. Will supervise licensed treatment level foster families, ensuring that they are in compliance with the OAC licensing requirements. Will work with the treatment team of a child who is placed in a treatment level foster home. Will conduct visits and contacts with the treatment level foster homes and the children placed in these homes, as required by rule. Will conduct home studies for foster families. Will assist with the creation and development of the treatment foster care program and any Agency policies that are a part of the program. Will be a part of the treatment team responsible for after-hours calls from treatment foster homes and potential placement in those homes after-hours. Will write an initial service plan for each child in a treatment level home, ensuring that the plans are reviewed as required by OAC rule and implemented.
