What are the responsibilities and job description for the LETTERSHOP OPERATOR position at Mail Services Llc?
Job Responsibilities:
- Examines work order to determine customer instructions and calibrate Bell & Howell machine to conform to the specific job order specifications
- Monitors and adjust inserter machine to perform job specifications according to job order and timeline.
- Examines inserted mail to verify correct document insertion, quality control, and appearance.
- Assists technicians in minor maintenance issues, or as needed
- Handles, stacks, bands, and boxes processed mail
- Reports all job order discrepancies to supervisor or Quality Control immediately.
- Processes mail in accordance with established U.S. Postal Service, customer, and Company standards
- Knowledge of filling meters and able to read meters for job related information
- Keeps supervisor informed of all malfunctions or changes in machine performance as they occur or are observed
- Backs-up other operators as needed or when requested
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read and interpret documents
- Good hand to eye coordination, ability to read mailing addresses and work in fast pace environment. An understanding of zip code, barcode sorting process and schemes. Safe working habits
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of work related situations.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
- To perform this job successfully, an individual should have some computer knowledge and computer skills
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment under time constraints and deadlines.
