One of the top wealth management firms in the DMV is looking to add a Director of Tax Strategies to their team due to growth. Founded over 40 years ago, this firm has over $5B in assets undermanagement and has been recognized year after year as one of the best financial services companies in the Mid-Atlantic.
This individual will director tax consulting and strategy for high-net-worth clientele. The ideal candidate must be conversant in the tax aspects of financial planning, including the tax implications surrounding investments, insurance, retirement plans, estate planning, comprehensive tax compliance, tax advisory, tax minimization strategies, the taxation of complex investment products, and charitable giving strategies. This position does not require any tax return preparation.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and implement strategic tax planning initiatives for high-net-worth clients, including individuals, families, and trusts.
- Collaborate with financial advisors and estate planners to create comprehensive wealth management plans that incorporate tax-efficient strategies.
- Stay up-to-date on changes in federal, state, and international tax laws, ensuring compliance and identifying opportunities for tax savings.
- Advise clients on tax implications related to investments, business succession, charitable giving, and estate planning.
- Provide guidance on tax-efficient asset allocation, retirement planning, and wealth transfer strategies.
- Oversee tax reporting and compliance efforts, ensuring adherence to all applicable regulations.
- Conduct detailed tax analyses and projections to support long-term financial planning.
REQUIREMENTS
Education:
- College-level degree in Taxation or Financial field required.
- Masters in Taxation preferred, but not required.
Work Experience:
- At least 6 years professional experience in the tax industry.
- Experience with personal tax advisory is preferred.
- Experience/familiarity with fiduciary income tax advisory a plus.
- Familiarity with ProSystems SFX Tax Software a plus.
