What are the responsibilities and job description for the Orientation Instructor position at Main Office?
Esperanza Cyber Charter School (ECCS) located in North Philadelphia is currently seeking mission-driven Orientation Instructor applicants for the 2022-23 school year. The Orientation Specialist serves as the initial point of contact for newly enrolled students and is responsible for conducting orientation sessions, monitoring student progress through the virtual orientation course, and supporting students once enrolled in classes.

Esperanza Cyber Charter School (ECCS) prepares students in grades Kindergarten through 12 to meet the challenges of living creatively and productively in an increasingly technologically sophisticated and interconnected world. ECCS will provide students with an academically rigorous, yet flexible, online learning program that tailors learning experiences to each child through a combination of curriculum choices and virtual tutoring and counseling. ECCS is targeted toward underserved and at-risk students who have not always found success in traditional schools. ECCS places students on a pathway to post-secondary success.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Associate's degree required
- Spanish fluency is preferred
- PowerSchool SIS and Google Suites experience are a plus
- Experience in an urban setting with high percentages of ELD and SPED students

Responsibilities:
- Conduct icebreaker and teambuilding activities to help support student engagement and culture building
- Call student families to confirm the orientation date and equipment pick up
- Confirm that all new users are created in the necessary systems and have devices prepared prior to the orientation date and manage the process of SIS profiles
- Conduct synchronous orientation sessions whether virtually or in person (if needed)
- Monitor virtual orientation courses to ensure students are completing and submitting quality assignments in a timely manner. Follow up with struggling or disengaged students and their families to help identify barriers and re-engage students in the learning process
- Analyze trends and evidence to make suggestions to improve the orientation and enrollment processes
- Monitor students’ progress in classes after orientation and maintain communication with students and families to assist students in acclimating to the online environment efficiently
- Assist in identifying students for referral to At-Risk and SAP programs
- Regularly communicate through phone, email, and chat to encourage students and build a school culture
- Assist in the development of policies, procedures, and protocols regarding the orientation and enrollment processes
- Compile, maintain, and file all physical and computerized reports, records, and other documents as required
- Comply with federal, state, and local laws and established policies

- Must be able to assist in meticulously tracking and collecting data as identified for the program
