Esperanza Cyber Charter School (ECCS) located in North Philadelphia is currently accepting applications for a 12-month Receptionist position. The receptionist works in the Cyber Charter Office and is responsible for writing and managing grants and helping in clerical work as directed by their supervisor.

Esperanza Cyber Charter School (ECCS) prepares students in grades Kindergarten through 12 to meet the challenges of living creatively and productively in an increasingly technologically sophisticated and interconnected world. ECCS will provide students with an academically rigorous, yet flexible, online learning program that tailors learning experiences to each child through a combination of curriculum choices and virtual and in-person tutoring and counseling. ECCS is targeted toward underserved and at-risk students who have not always found success in traditional schools. ECCS places students on a pathway to post-secondary success.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Associate Degree, Bachelor's Degree preferred
- Ability to communicate well in a group/team environment; bilingual Spanish fluency preferred
- Basic computing skills such as word processing, excel, and folder creation
Responsibilities:
- Answers telephone system for screening calls, transferring calls, responding to inquiries, and/or taking messages.
- Helps answer questions about the school; provides families with an appropriate application and supporting documents.
- Assists in the initial registration processing, forms, documents and records, and related information for formal student registration.
- Adds registration data to the enrollment spreadsheet.
- Follow up with interested families as directed.
- Follow up on missing documents as directed.
- Distributes items within the site (e.g. special delivery and overnight mail/packages, messages, application packets, etc.) for ensuring receipt to the addressee and/or providing material/s.
- Greets individuals entering the building (e.g. visitors, parents, students, vendors, etc.) for responding to inquiries; and/or directing individuals to appropriate locations in accordance with established building security procedures.
- Maintains and updates building information (e.g. use schedules, staff directories, emergency contacts, etc.) for providing reference information.
- Maintains reception area materials (e.g. applications, newsletters, event calendars, etc.) for the purpose of providing resource information to visitors.
- Performs general secretarial and clerical functions (e.g. scheduling, copying, faxing, data entry, filing, etc.) for supporting office operations.
- Processes a variety of records (e.g. student records, transcripts, tutor lists, guardianship packets, etc.) for conveying information within School/District guidelines and regulations.
- Print and mail, as directed, progress reports, report cards, and transcripts.
- Receives a variety of items (e.g. mail, special deliveries, packages, supplies, etc.) for the purpose of distributing materials to appropriate parties.
- Performs other related duties as assigned for ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.
- Support in the coordination and logistics of school events including Fun Zones, Awards Ceremony, Spirit Week, Field Day, Graduation, Back to School Nights, Assemblies, field trips, etc.
- Serves as the school’s security officer by updating and maintaining emergency procedures.
