JOB TITLE: DONATION ATTENDANT
PAY RATE: $16.50/hr
DEPARTMENT: RETAIL
STATUS: FULL-TIME
IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: STORE MANAGER

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
- Maintain and clean up the area in and around the donation trailer/pod at the beginning and end of each shift.
- Appear neatly and cleanly dressed in suitable clothing as per The Salvation Army dress code policy.
- Courteously assist the donor in the removal of all donated items from the donor’s vehicle and provide receipt.
- Maintain all reports and paperwork as instructed by the Supervisor.
- Separate and sort all donated material into the proper containers, and properly stack material as instructed by Supervisor.
- Assist TSA drivers/PAs with loading donations on to trucks as necessary.
- Inform Supervisor of needed items prior to running out (i.e.: brooms, receipts, totes, carts, etc.)
- At the end of each shift, the Donation Attendant must secure and lock the area
- Maintain good working relations with property or store managers.
- Other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned, from time to time, by Supervisor.
Work Environment:
The position is located outdoors but can be indoors as well. The environment includes noisy background, exposure to outdoor elements including air dust, debris, dirt, etc.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School graduate or equivalent required
- Ability to communicate effectively with employees and donors
- Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
- Ability to provide good customer service to donors. Previous customer service experience preferred
- Age Requirement: Applicants must be 18 years of age or older
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, stoop, crouch, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis.
- Ability to lift, carry, reach, push and pull
- Ability to lift/push/pull up to 25-50lbs with or without assistance.
- Ability to perform various repetitive motion tasks
