Main Street Skowhegan is seeking a dynamic and highly organized Workforce Development Manager to support the implementation of our Economic Development Administration . This individual will play a critical role in strengthening workforce development efforts in central Maine, leading coalition meetings, supporting local businesses and entrepreneurs, and assisting residents in achieving economic mobility.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and facilitate regional coalition meetings to ensure effective collaboration among stakeholders.
- Assist with entrepreneurial initiatives and support existing MSS programming to foster business growth and sustainability.
- Spearhead workforce career pathway development in partnership with regional stakeholders and MSS staff.
- Provide workforce development resources to local businesses, helping them attract, retain, and develop skilled employees.
- Support community organizations by compiling resident support and workforce training programs that align with regional economic needs.
- Assist residents in accessing workforce development resources, skills training, and career pathways that promote long-term economic stability and upward mobility.
- Collaborate and deepen relationships with partner organizations, businesses, and government entities to enhance workforce development efforts.
- Maintain detailed records, track program outcomes, and report progress to stakeholders and grant funders.
- Work to reduce the prime-age employment gap in central Maine by implementing targeted workforce strategies outlined in the Revitalization of Central Maine Recompete Plan Scope of Work and Work Plan.
Qualifications
- Extremely strong communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders effectively and lead meetings.
- Ability to represent the organization professionally and effectively in regional meetings.
- Deadline driven, with excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, ensuring seamless coordination of multiple initiatives.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team and build strong relationships with community partners.
- Prior experience in workforce development, economic development, or a related field.
- Familiarity with workforce training programs, employment services, or economic mobility initiatives is desirable.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, and data tracking tools.
