Kennel Assistant

Our well-established AAHA accredited hospital wants to hire additional staff to join our team. We are currently seeking bright, energetic individuals who work hard, pay close attention to detail, and have a love for pets.

Candidates must be able to lift 40 lbs., be on your feet 4-5 hours at a time, and have the flexibility to work weekends and holidays. The ability to work in an environment with loud noises and exposure to disinfectant chemicals is a must have. General kennel experience is preferred.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Cleaning and maintenance of general boarding areas
• Feeding and watering pet guests
• Monitoring and charting every pet guest during their stay
• Organization of pet belongings
• Laundering duties
• Treating guests, clients, and coworkers in a professional and courteous manner
• Working in a fast paced environment
• Surgical Packs, sterilizing, and wrapping packs
• Bathing/Grooming
• Helping the techs and doctors with basic assistant duties such as restraining patients for exams, running lab work, and getting samples for diagnostics.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be reliable, punctual, and able to manage time well
• Must be able to work weekends and holidays
• Must be able to frequently lift 40 pounds
• Must be able to work in an environment with exposure to disinfectant/sanitation chemicals, loud noises, animal dander, and excretions
• Must have excellent communication skills
• Must possess a love of animals and patience when handling pets
• Displays a professional manner at all times

Job Types: Part-Time, Full-Time

Some weekends and Holidays are required.

Clinic Hours:

• Mon.-Fri. 7:30a-6p
• Sat. 8:30a-5p
• Sun. Clinic Closed (Kennel techs come in for walks/cleaning at 8:45-11 AM and 4:45-6 PM)

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $11.00 - $13.00 per hour
