The Assistant City Planner - Zoning position is responsible for assisting the City Planner in interpreting and administering the Zoning Ordinance, Site Plan Regulations, and Subdivision Regulations, thoroughly analyzing applications to the Zoning Board of Adjustment and Planning Board for compliance with the regulations, and preparing detailed staff reports based on the analysis. Job Summary
Provides professional and technical assistance in the areas of land use planning, zoning, and municipal facility design. Provides customer service to the general public and other City departments. Serves as point person for data collection and dissemination. Manages special projects, contracts, and initiatives as assigned. Performs the duties of the City Planner in the absence of both the City Planner and the Assistant City Planner – Community Planning.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent from a college or university; and Five recent and consecutive years of progressively responsible related experience, preferably including experience in both a public and private sector setting, including two years in a supervisory capacity; or any combination of education, training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities required for the job.
