SUMMARY
York County Community College (YCCC), a vibrant institution with a celebrated 30-year history of educational excellence in York County, Maine, invites applications for the position of Contract, Lab Assistant for our Animal Care & Management / Veterinary Assistant program. This role is integral to supporting our Breeds and Behavior course, providing practical lab assistance, and enhancing our students' learning experience in the field of animal care.

SALARY: $20 per hour.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Set up and clean-up of laboratory materials and equipment.
- Facilitate a supportive and inclusive learning environment that promotes strong observational and analytical skills among small student groups.
- Work closely with faculty to maintain curriculum relevance with industry standards and best practices for labs in animal care and management.
Delivery Method: In-person, on campus.
Start/End Date: Spring Semester 2025
Location: YCCC Wells Campus, off campus w/in 1 hour’s radius possible
Schedule: All Fridays for the YCCC Spring Semester 10:30 AM – 3 PM
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience working with large animals, ruminants, rabbits, and birds is required
- Some off-campus travel may be required, so a reliable vehicle is required
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Licensed Veterinary Technicians, Approved Veterinary Assistants
- Teaching experience
