What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Staff - Evening Baker position at Maine Crisp Company?
Maine Crisp is an award-winning, specialty cracker company located in Winslow, ME and is looking for a hardworking addition to the Maine Crisp team. The ideal candidate must be efficient and self-motivated with the ability to handle repetitive tasks.
The Product:
We make Five flavors of crisps, each with a variety of nuts, seeds, and fruit. Our daily process includes baking the bread loaves, slicing, crisping (re-baking the slices), sorting and packaging.
Pay and Benefits:
- Starting pay is $18 dollars an hour with an $1/HR night shift differential
- Hours are 5 pm to 1 am Monday-Thursday
- 2-10 PM on Sundays
- Paid holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, and your birthday!)
- Two weeks of paid vacation
- Health insurance plans are available. We cover 70% of monthly policy cost for employees, and 30% for partners and children.
As part of the Baking production team you may be tasked with any or all of the following duties:
- Mixing Batter
- Weighing ingredients
- Using a machine to fill the loaf pans with batter
- Baking Loaves
- Operating and cleaning equipment
- Cleaning the production room at the end of the day.
- Recording baking and cleaning records.
Skills and Requirements:
- Ability to regularly lift 50 pounds
- Ability to regularly lift 50 pounds as part of a team lift.
- Excellent communication and time management skills
- Ability to follow detailed directions. The recipe and bake process are written out and it is important that they are closely followed to keep the production consistent.
- Can work closely with other members of the team. Most stages of production require two or more people working together to complete
- Previous kitchen experience preferred but willing to train
