BRIEF JOB DESCRIPTION: This position is in the Stormwater Engineering Team (SET) of the Bureau of Land Resources (BLR). SET is primarily responsible for the implementation of the DEP’s “Stormwater Management Rules (Chapter 500)” and reviews land development projects requiring DEP permits. This position will review the stormwater management plans proposed for the construction and post-construction phases of the projects. The position will specialize in construction stormwater management and routinely interact with BLR licensers and field services staff, and regulated community (e.g., consultants, contractors).
The physical work location of this position will be based out of one of the DEP offices in Portland (most preferred), Augusta, Bangor (least preferred) with the opportunity to telework consistent with DEP policy. BLR will provide professional society memberships and other professional development opportunities for the position. The successful candidate will work under the limited supervision of the team leader, a senior environmental engineer.
Other job duties include:
- Performing tasks to ensure compliance with the new Maine Construction General Permit.
- Assisting with activities to improve SET related workflows and procedures.
