The Child Protective Caseworker position is a challenging job working with families impacted by child abuse and neglect in the State of Maine. Starting pay is $67,288.00 annually, before overtime, with full benefits. It’s important to be aware that Child Protective Caseworker positions require frequent overtime, after hours work and regular travel within the geographic area served by a District Office.

A caseworker must be eligible to be licensed as a Social Worker in the State of Maine. A Bachelor’s degree is required. Degrees in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, Child or Human Development, Rehabilitation, Criminal Justice, and Education are considered qualifying. The Board will consider other degrees as long as the candidate has at least 12 classes (classes, not credits) in Psychology, Sociology, Social Work or Human Services or other sufficiently related subject matter. You do not need to be licensed prior to applying.
