Job Description:

This is maintenance, repair, and reconstruction work of a managerial nature for the Maine State Ferry Service (MSFS). Work involves managing and overseeing the maintenance, operations, and construction activities.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Performs duties of Company Security Officer while overseeing facilities for MSFS
  • Performs trainings and audits for land side crews to ensure MDOT policies and USCG regulations are met.
  • Assists others to ensure vessel crews are properly trained in accordance with MDOT and USCG policies.
  • Compiles annual audit reports for facilities and vessels
  • Ensures coverage of land side crews to operate 7 days per week.
  • Assists in crewing MSFS vessels in accordance with USCG COI's
  • Oversees inventory personnel to ensure proper margins of materials are in stock
  • Manages terminal agents throughout MSFS.


The applicant selected for hire must obtain a TWIC (Transportation Workers Identification Credential) Card that is provided by TSA -Transportation Security Administration within 30 days of hire.

To be minimally qualified for this position candidates must provide evidence of the following experience:

A four (4) year combination of training, experience, and/or education in maintenance and/or construction. 1 year minimum supervisory experience is required.
