We are a busy and a growing optical practice of 35 years searching for someone that's knowledgeable about office procedures. Our Medical Front Desk Receptionist greets our patients in an enthusiastic manner as they arrive, guides them through the initial steps of their appointment. has them complete the proper paperwork and informs them of the process flow by communicating clearly regarding expectations. You would work directly with each patient and perform steps needed to help the optometrist treat the patient.
Responsibilities for our Medical Front Desk Receptionist Include:
- Greet patients and provide excellent patient care;
- Check patients in and out;
- Schedule patient's appointments and referrals;
- Actively work to reschedule appointments as openings are established;
- Work with vision equipment to start the exam on the patient, including checking acuities, visual field testing, color vision screening, retinal photography, etc. when needed;
- Order and dispense contact lenses, as needed;
- Administrative duties for this position may include faxing, copying, making phone calls, preparing patient's medical records, scanning and entering data into the office's computer system;
- Maintain a smooth flow of patients and ensure they are evaluated in the proper order;
- Participate in the team environment by displaying and following through and to be able to help assist co-workers in any way;
- Monitor and obtain insurance information for exams.
Skills & Qualifications for our Optometric Technician Include:
- Must be pleasant, caring and helpful;
- Previous medical experience is recommended. Office experience is recommended;
- Must have a great communications skills both spoken and written;
- Must be able to multi-task and work under pressure;
- Must be proficient with technology;
- Must be efficient, organized and resourceful;
- Must pay strong attention to detail;
- Must have a professional demeanor, be dependable and punctual.
Position Requirements Include:
- Technician experience, (optical or medical required);
- High School Diploma or GED;
- Basic math skills.
Benefits Include:
- Up to $22 per hour, negotiable based on experience and skill level;
- Eleven paid holidays a year;
- Up to 40 hours sick pay per year;
