What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Assistant position at Maine Family Planning?
Maine Family Planning is seeking a full time Medical Assistant for our Lewiston location.
Position Summary:
The Medical Assistant assists family planning providers in the delivery of administrative and clinical duties under the supervision of the Nurse Practitioner as required by the State of Maine. Candidate must be able to work in a team environment. Excellent customer service skills and professional demeanor are required. Follows Maine Family Planning policies and clinical protocols. The candidate will be expected to travel occasionally to sites within an hour of Lewiston. A valid driver's license and reliable transportation is required.

Experience and Skill Requirements: The following experience and skills are considered essential:
- 1-2 years working in social/health services.
- Ability to be organized, manage systems, computer skills.
- Knowledge of OSHA, HIPAA and CLIA guidelines
- Experience working with electronic medical records.
- Commitment to family planning mission
The following education requirements are considered essential:
- Certification from a Medical Assistant Training Program preferred.
