Job Overview
The Maintenance Technician - Academy Infrastructure is a key member of the facilities team at MAINE MARITIME ACADEMY. This individual will be responsible for performing routine maintenance tasks to ensure the cleanliness, safety, and overall upkeep of the academy's grounds, roads, and buildings.
Responsibilities
- Cleans buildings and grounds in accordance with department standards.
- Maintains walkways, picks up litter, and ensures proper sanitation.
- Operates a variety of building maintenance and lawn equipment.
- Performs minor mechanical work on equipment and makes adjustments as needed.
- Assists with mail distribution, painting, and other duties as assigned.
- Reports items in need of repair to a supervisor and follows up to ensure completion.
- Ensures all cleaning and maintenance activities are performed in accordance with established procedures and policies.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Valid Class C Driver's License and a clean driving record.
- Custodial or related work experience preferred but not required.
- Ability to work nights, weekends, and in adverse weather conditions.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
