Job Overview

This role is responsible for teaching undergraduate students at Maine Maritime Academy. The position involves developing and implementing high-quality curricula, conducting research, and providing academic guidance to students.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in marine transportation, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Main Responsibilities:
  • Teach and assess undergraduate students in the department's allocated areas.
  • Contribute to the development of learning materials, lesson plans, and student progress records.
  • Participate in departmental and faculty seminars to foster interdisciplinary collaboration.
  • Provide academic support to students, including advising and mentoring.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Academic Background:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a relevant field.
  • Licensure and Certification:
  • Valid USCG license with applicable STCW endorsements, including Second Mate Unlimited Oceans or Master Unlimited Oceans.
  • Work Experience:
  • Experience with small vessel operations, lifeboatman certificate, and other relevant STCW credentials.
