Training Officer Position
The MAINE MARITIME ACADEMY is seeking a qualified Training Officer for Maritime Academies to join our team. As a key member of our training staff, you will be responsible for developing and delivering instructional programs for students in the fields of deck and engineer operations.
Responsibilities include:
- Designing and teaching classroom and lab classes on various subjects related to the USCG 3rd Mate License/OICNW and 3rd Assistant Engineer's License.
- Supervising and training students of varying experience levels in practical operation of all bridge and deck machinery/equipment, tools, and safety equipment.
- Acting as a safety observer during any evolution involving groups of students; working knowledge of/experience with Safety Management Systems is recommended.
Qualifications include:
- USCG Second Mate's – self-propelled vessels of unlimited tonnage – Oceans or similar qualification
- STCW Endorsement for RFPNW, OICNW, PSC
- Valid US Passport
- Transportation Worker Identification Card (TWIC)
- Valid Merchant Mariner Credential
- Valid USCG Medical Certificate
